The purpose of the sick leave pool is to furnish a continuing income (after qualifications are met) for certificated staff members who are faced with a major illness or accident and have used up all of their sick leave days. A major illness or accident shall be defined as one which requires an absence of ten (10) or more consecutive school days. This pool is not designed for brief absences after sick leave is used up, or for family illness, death, or business.
