P 4310 General Attendance

The following applies to paid leave for Marshfield R-1 employees.

  1. Paid Leave-- Employees whose assignments call for 9 months employment will be entitled 10 days of paid leave, 10 month employees receive 11 days, 11 month employees receive 12 days, and 12 month employees receive 13 days of paid leave per year. Unused paid leave will be accumulative to 60 days but such accumulated leave may only be used as sick leave. Paid leave days shall be identified as sick leave and personal leave. NOTE: Allocations of paid leave to sick leave, personal leave and bereavement leave are addressed in the regulations.
  2. Family Medical Leave is separate from sick leave but sick leave days will be counted in determining the number of days allocated to FMLA leave days. FMLA leave days are not paid leave days to the extent they exceed sick leave days.
  3. Refer to the Regulations for Military Leave, leave for Jury Duty, and Bereavement Leave.
  4. Under circumstances approved by the Superintendent's office, an employee may take Leave of Absence without pay.

An absence of one through seven hours shall be counted the number of hours missed. Unpaid leave shall not be considered sick leave for any purpose.

The superintendent will review incidents of excessive absence and may require the employee to provide medical documentation or may consider disciplinary action up to and including termination.
