R 2525 Graduation Requirements

School Flex Program

To be eligible to participate in the School Flex Program, an eligible student must:

Attend school a minimum of two instructional hours per school day within the District.

  1. Pursue a timely graduation.
  2. Provide evidence of college or technical career educational enrollment and attendance, or proof of employment and labor that is aligned with the student’s career academic plan developed by the District.
  3. Refrain from being expelled or suspended while participating in the School Flex Program.
  4. Pursue course and credit requirements for a diploma.
  5. Maintain a ninety-five (95%) attendance rate.

North Callaway R-I Alternative High School Diploma

Students may attain a North Callaway R-I Alternative High School Diploma through the program of studies at the alternative High School or through the Missouri Option Program.

Alternative High School

Graduation requirements for the North Callaway R-I Alternative High School shall be a minimum of twenty-four (24) units of credit completed during grades nine and above. A student will receive a North Callaway R-I Alternative High School Diploma if he/she accrues more than eight (8) credits at the alternative school during the regular school term(s).

English 4.0 units
Social Studies 3.0 units (.5 which must be Personal Finance)
Mathematics 3.0 units
Science 3.0 units
Fine Arts 1.0 units
Practical Arts 1.0 units
Physical Education 1.0 units
Health 0.5 units
Electives 7.5 units
TOTALS 24 units

In addition to the program of study for graduation, a student must pass the Missouri Constitution exam, pass the United States Constitution exam, and complete any required state assessments to qualify for graduation from the District.

Missouri Option Program

For students enrolled in the Missouri Option Program, they must pass the HiSET and satisfactorily fulfill the course of studies and requirements as outlined by the Missouri Option Program local plan.

In addition to the Missouri Option Program of studies, a student must pass the Missouri Constitution exam, pass the United States Constitution exam, and complete any required state assessments to qualify for graduation from the District.

Missouri Option Program participants will have access to all educational programs and services available in the school district. All students will participate in appropriate state assessments with regular classroom participation, special education accommodations, or eligibility for MAP-Alternative.
