P 4320 Annual Leave

The Board of Education shall adopt regulations for the following types of leave for District employees:

  1. Annual Leave Days
  2. Bereavement Leave
  3. Leave for Jury Duty
  4. Military Leave
  5. Leave of Absence
  6. Family and Medical Care Leave  (See Policy and Regulation 4321)

Specific provisions of the various forms of District leave are set out in Regulation 4320.

CERTIFIED PERSONNEL SHORT-TERM LEAVES AND ABSENCES

The Board believes that the provisions of leaves for the professional staff helps to attract and retain faculty who will continue to grow professionally, maintain their physical health and have a feeling of security.

The following leaves with pay will be accorded full-time certified employees:

Professional Leave - Teachers may be granted professional leave upon the approval of the administration.  Professional leave must be arranged well in advance, and is not considered personal leave.

Salary deduction will be made for all absences which are not covered by the various leave policies.

SUPPORT STAFF LEAVES AND ABSENCES

The Board believes that the provision of leaves for the professional staff helps to attract and retain persons who will continue to grow professionally, maintain their physical health and have a feeling of security.

The following leaves with pay will be accorded full-time non-certified employees:

Salary deduction will be made for all absences which are not covered by the various leave policies.
