The District encourages participation of parents and citizens of the community to volunteer in the schools in order to serve as additional resources to sponsors and coaches. District administration will be responsible for determining when there is a need. Prior to serving as a volunteer, each individual who may have unsupervised contact with a child must:
- Complete an application for the position
- Have a satisfactory criminal records check
- Have a satisfactory check of the child abuse/neglect records maintained by the Missouri Department of Social Services
- Obtain a substitute teaching certificate from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Satisfy all requirements set fourth by the Missouri State High School Activities Association
- Complete a course certified by the Red Cross in first aid and CPR
