P 4330 Holidays and Vacation

The Board will annually adopt a calendar that will provide for the following holidays:

  1. Independence Day
  2. Labor Day
  3. Thanksgiving Day
  4. Day after Thanksgiving
  5. Christmas Day
  6. New Year’s Day
  7. Memorial Day
  8. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday
  9. Good Friday

Certificated staff members and exempt support staff members will not receive additional compensation for holidays.

Non-exempt support staff will be paid their average daily rate of pay for the above-listed holidays, if the holiday falls on a regular work day and if their work schedule encompasses the holidays (for example, non-exempt support staff employed during the school year only will not receive compensation for Independence Day).Average daily rate of pay will be calculated by determining how many hours the staff member would be expected to work if the day was not a holiday (for example, if a holiday falls on a Tuesday and the staff member works an average of 7 hours on Tuesday, then the staff member would receive pay for 7 hours). In the event that a non-exempt support staff member is required or assigned to work on one of the above-listed holidays (such as for a snow make-up day), then the staff member will not receive additional compensation above their regular rate of pay.

Administrators employed on a twelve (12) month contract shall have vacation as provided in their individual contracts. Vacation shall be scheduled in compliance with the Superintendent's guidelines and is subject to Superintendent approval.
