The Board of Education believes that the use of cell phones in schools poses increasing risks of school disruptions, bullying, criminal activity, and academic dishonesty. As a result, Oran R-III Junior and Senior High School will be a cell phone-free learning environment for students during the instructional day, with the expectation that eliminating student cell phone usage will improve the climate and culture in our classrooms and on campus. 

Depending on the circumstances, violation of this policy will result in a range of discipline, including confiscation of the student's cell phone, after-school detention, in-school suspension, and out-of-school suspension.
