Students must meet the following requirements in order to graduate from the Tarkio R-I School
District.
The minimum graduation requirements are as follows:
Communication Arts 4 units
Social Studies 3 units
Mathematics 3 units
Science 3 units
Fine Arts 2 units
Practical Arts 2 units
Physical Education 1.5 units
Health Education ½ unit
Personal Finance ½ unit
Computer Applications ½ unit
Electives 8 units
Total 28 units
Students who attend the NW Technical School (NTS) or Tarkio Tech will have the minimum number of credits required for graduation reduced by one elective unit for every year they attend technical school. NTS attendees can also earn ½ credit of high school math credit by taking the approved NTS courses. With approval of the high school principal/designee, students who successfully complete all three of the following vocational agriculture courses will be given credit for one unit of science toward local graduation requirements: animal science, plant science and advanced livestock/crop production. Personal finance credit may be embedded into a three year vocational track sequence at Tarkio High School. Eligible students as defined in Regulation 2525 may pursue a timely graduation from high school through the School Flex Program. Eligible students participating in the School Flex Program will be considered full-time students.
